If we're coming from Faro, the district capital, the drive will take approximately 20-25 minutes (about 15-20 kilometers), following signs to Almancil and then to Quinta do Lago. The road is in excellent condition and the scenery along the way is typically Algarvian, with pine trees and sea views.

For those opting for public transport, the options are more limited. There are bus lines connecting Faro with Almancil, but from Almancil to the beach, we would need a taxi or a specific local bus, which doesn't always run frequently. If we fly into Faro Airport, which is about 15 kilometers away, the most practical option is to rent a car directly at the airport or take a taxi/private transfer. In Quinta do Lago itself, there are extensive parking areas, some paid, especially during the high season, which will facilitate direct access to the beach.
