This is, without a doubt, the most comfortable and flexible option for most visitors. From Faro Airport (FAO), the drive takes approximately 20-25 minutes, covering a distance of about 15 kilometers. Just follow the signs to Almancil and then to the beaches of Quinta do Lago or Vale do Lobo, where you will find well-marked turnoffs to Garrão. We always recommend renting a car to explore the region at your own pace. There are several parking areas near the beach, some free and others paid, especially during the high season.

By Public Transport

Public transport in this area can be a bit more limited. From Faro, you can take a bus to Almancil and from there, possibly, a taxi or a ride-hailing service to the beach. However, the frequency and coverage are not as extensive as in other urban areas, so we consider this option less practical if your main goal is the beach and its immediate surroundings.

Taxi or Ride-Hailing (VTC)

If you prefer not to drive, you can always opt for a taxi or a ride-hailing service (like Uber or Bolt), which are quite popular in the Algarve. From Faro or the airport, the cost will be reasonable and will drop you off right at the entrance to the beach or your nearby accommodation. It is a good option if you are traveling without a car and don't want to worry about parking.
