If we opt for the comfort of our own vehicle or a rental car, the journey from the center of Faro to Praia do Molhe takes approximately 10 to 15 minutes, covering a distance of about 8 to 10 kilometers. The most common route takes us across a bridge connecting the mainland to the peninsula where the beach is located, offering us some spectacular first views of the Ria Formosa. There are several parking areas, some free and others paid, especially during the high season. It is advisable to arrive early in the summer months to secure a good spot, as the beach is very popular.

By Public Bus

For those who prefer public transport, the urban bus company 'Proximo' offers regular lines connecting the center of Faro with Praia de Faro, where the Molhe section is located. Line 16 is the most used and drops us off directly in the beach area. Buses are frequent, especially in summer, and represent an economical and ecological option for getting there. The bus journey allows us to relax and enjoy the scenery without worrying about parking.

By Ferry (Only in High Season)

A much more picturesque option that we highly recommend for an authentic experience is taking the ferry. During the summer months, there is a regular ferry service that departs from the Faro marina and takes us directly to Praia de Faro. This trip is a mini-excursion in itself, as we sail through the calm waters of the Ria Formosa, a natural park of immense beauty. From the ferry landing, Praia do Molhe is a short and pleasant walk away, allowing us to enjoy the natural surroundings even more. It is a fantastic way to start a beach day, feeling the sea breeze and admiring the rich wildlife of the Ria.
