By Car

For many, the car is the most comfortable and flexible option to reach this beach in Leiria. From Lisbon, the journey takes approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes (about 170 km) by taking the A8 motorway heading north and then turning off onto the A17 or secondary roads towards Pedrógão. From Porto, the trip is similar in duration (about 2 hours, 190 km) via the A1 south, with a turn-off towards the Leiria coast. The signage is clear, and the scenery during the drive, especially as you approach the coast, is very pleasant. Furthermore, once at the beach, finding parking is usually not a problem, as there are designated areas, some free and some paid, especially during the high season.

By Public Transport

If we prefer not to drive, there are public transport options. We can take a train to the city of Leiria and, from there, take a local bus that will take us directly to Pedrógão. Bus connections from Leiria are regular, although it's advisable to check the schedules in advance, especially outside the high season, as the frequency may be lower. This option allows us to relax and enjoy the scenery without worrying about traffic or parking.

For international visitors, the nearest airports are Lisbon Airport (LIS) and Porto Airport (OPO). Both offer a wide range of international flights. From either of these airports, we can rent a car, take a train or bus to Leiria, and then the local bus to Pedrógão.
